Robert Doyle Bailey, 75, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 31, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief battle with leukemia.
Robert was born Nov. 22, 1932, in Orrick, the son of Hallie G. and Fannie Bailey. He married his loving wife, Joyce M. Werle, March 20, 1954; she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie Glisson and her husband, John, of Roeland Park, Kan., and Janet Durbin and her husband, Jim, of Lee’s Summit; five grandchildren, Justin and Nathaniel Glisson and Bailey, Rob and Ben Durbin; one brother, Glen Bailey of Independence; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Bailey of Lathrop; brother-in-law, Raymond Werle of Orrick; nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
His parents, and two brothers, Morris and Billy Bailey, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, Gideon’s International, Meals on Wheels, or Habitat for Humanity.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the First Baptist Church in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the church. A graveside service and burial will follow at 4 p.m., in South Point Cemetery in Orrick.
