James L. Green, 68, of Chillicothe, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at his home.
James was born June 22, 1940 in Albany, Mo., the son of James E. and Helen Marie (McCoy) Green. He married first Barbara Stratton and second, Linda D. Hughes on June 6, 1964, in Chillicothe; she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, Linda, survivors include: one son, James M. Green, of St. Joseph; three daughters, Penny L. Meiser of Plano, Texas, Terri A. Smith of Woodlands, Texas, and Tammy L. Painter of Chillicothe; one sister, Rose Vance of Kansas City, Mo., nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
His parents and brother, Carol Green, preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Lodge No. 89 AF and AM and may be mailed to Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe; friends may call at the funeral home from Noon to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling, Mo.
