James F. Forbes, 71, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at North Kansas City, Hospital.
James Franklin Forbes, Jr. was born June 1, 1937, in Derby, Colo., the son of James and Evelyn Minor Forbes, Sr. Mr. Forbes worked as a salesman for Superior Wine and Liquor before his retirement. He married Betty J. Schmidt Aug. 17, 1985, in Odessa; she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Forbes and his wife, Tina, of Ft. Mills, S.C., Terry Forbes and his wife, Sara, of Independence, Brian Eastabrooks and his wife, Cinda, of Odessa; one daughter, Connie Frost of Excelsior Springs; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Forbes of Sweet Springs; one niece, Lea Ann Sheriff and her husband, Duane; and one great-niece and great-nephew.
His parents, and a brother, Jack Forbes, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Northcare Hospice in North Kansas City, Mo.
Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 18, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services immediately followed the visitation at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial was in Odessa Cemetery.
