Emma Lou (Carithers) Roush McPheeters, 80, of Kansas City, formerly of Lawson, passed away Sunday June 29, 2008, at her home.
Emma was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Bentonville, Ark., the daughter of John Wesley and Jessie E. (Chiles) Carithers. She married John C. Roush Sept. 23, 1944; he preceded her in death Dec. 5, 1999. She married Billy Charles McPheeters Jan. 1, 2002 in Kansas City; he survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, John Roush and his wife, Veda, of Gladstone, and Steven Roush and his wife, Lina, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; her husband’s two sons, Billy E. McPheeters of Gladstone, and Ricky D. McPheeters of Kansas City; one brother, Bill Carithers of Rogers, Ark.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, John, her parents preceded her in death.
The family has suggested memorials be made to the Northland Cathedral Missionary Program.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday July 3, at the Northland Cathedral in Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be held following the funeral service at the church. A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lawson Cemetery.
