Frances “Maxine” Summers, 83, of Kansas City, formerly of Pleasant Valley, died at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.
Mrs. Summers was born June 9, 1925 in Ray County, the daughter of Cleve and Edith Fae (Mullins) Holloway. She married Vernon Eugene Summers of Braymer, on June 28, 1942; he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1992.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale Eugene Summers and his wife, Vivian, of Rialto, Calif., and Kim Summers and his wife, Susie, of Liberty; three daughters and one son-in-law, Donna Grisham and her husband, Roger, of Liberty, Brenda Pemberton of Claycomo, and Trudy Summers and her companion, B.J. Strobel, of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Alberta Pulliam of Millville; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Junior Barr and Bert Holloway; and one sister, Helen Debbelaire, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Graveside services will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery in Richmond.
