Garnet Opal (House) Haifleigh, 95, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Liberty Hospital.
Garnet was born Dec. 16, 1912, in Helvey, Neb., the daughter of Elbert and Grace (Renner) House. She married Floyd Clarence Haifleigh on Aug. 12, 1933.
Survivors include: four daughters and spouses/partners, Ellen Johnson and Bill Hayaski of Puyallup, Wash., Margaret O’Leary and her husband, Jerry, of Excelsior Springs, Vivian Trumbauer and her husband, Bob, of Omaha, Neb., and Debra Lund and her husband, Dave, of Wichita, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Her husband, Floyd Clarence Haifleigh; one daughter, Sandie Wright; one grandson, David Day; and her six siblings, preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Excelsior Springs or Goodland, Kan., or to the donor’s choice.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 26, at Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 28, at the Goodland United Methodist Church in Goodland, Kan., with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Goodland Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Excelsior Springs at a later date.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
