William M. “Bill” McCant, 74, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Sunday June 22, 2008, at his home.
Bill was born Oct. 26, 1933 in Excelsior Springs, the son of Alonzo and Josephine M. (Murray) McCant. He married Ruby Rose Ellis Sept. 23, 1961 in Plattsburg; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Myron McCant and his wife, Lisa, of Parkville, Kevin McCant and Theresa Watson of Excelsior Springs, Todd McCant and his wife, Shannon, of Kansas City, and Bill McCant Jr., of Kansas City; three daughters and one son-in-law, Tonya Reece and her husband, Donald, of Kansas City, Kan., Rita McCant of Okla., and Mona Wood of Kansas City; two sisters, Margaret McCant, and Virginia Smith, both of Excelsior Springs; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one brother Roscoe McCant, and one sister Eileen McCant, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 28 at the Excelsior Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
