Carol J. Deen, 61, of Richmond passed away Friday, June 6, 2008, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kan.
Carol was born July 17, 1946, in Beloit, Kan., the daughter of Samuel W. and Clarice Collins Motes. Carol was an Army veteran, serving 22 years before retiring with the rank of Lt. Col. She worked at Ray County Hospital in Richmond as a Nurse Anethesis for 15 years. She was a member of the VFW. Carol married Wallace A. Deen Oct. 5, 1974; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include: four sisters, Glenda Eckart of Wamego, Kan., Marian Sibley of Beloit, Kan., Marcia Chapman of Topeka, Kan., and Kathryn Motes of Beloit, Kan.; four brothers, James Motes of Stillwater, Okla., Larry Motes of Hays, Kan., Dennis Motes of Van Buren, Ark., and Michael Motes of Concordia, Kan.
In addition to her husband, one brother, Steven M. Motes, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kan. 66606.
Cremation. No memorial services are scheduled at this time.
