Evelyn Louise Peebles, 80, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at her home.
Mrs. Peebles was born Oct. 23, 1927 in Mirable, the daughter of Albert and Greta (Swigart) Piersonin. She married Charles E. Peebles on Aug. 29, 1949 in Texarkana, Ark.; he preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1994.
Survivors include: eight children, Katherine Duncan, Sandy Simmons, Frank Peebles, Scott Peebles, Kevin Peebles and John Peebles, all of Excelsior Springs, Chuck Peebles of Metropolis, Ill., and Sherry Patterson of Eagan, Minn.; two sisters, six brothers, 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, one daughter, Diane Lynn Headlee; and a sister, Wanda Faye Meier, preceded her in death.
The family has suggested memorials be made to to Liberty Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday June 17, at the Woodland Cemetery near Liberty. It was her wish to be cremated and the ashes of her late husband, Charles, will be included in the committal service.
