Thomas C. White, Jr., 87, of Norborne, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at his home.
Tom was born Feb. 6, 1921, the son of T. Chester and Clementina (Rust) White of Norborne. On July 2, 1949, he married Bernice Hitzemann of Carrollton, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: four daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara White of Dothan, Ala., Beverly Menet and her husband, John, of Chicago, Ill., Brenda Kueck and her husband, Robert, of Raytown, and Betsy Holak and her husband, Jim, of San Mateo, Calif; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas White III, and his wife, Susan, of Norborne, Timothy White and his wife, Kathy, of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Narcissa White Saadeh of Houston, Texas, and Mary Martha White of Hot Springs, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norborne High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund or the Ray County Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, at the Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12, at the Norborne United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne.
