Doris Drake, 78, of Gladstone, formerly of Lawson, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the North Kansas City Hospital.
Mrs. Drake was born April 19, 1930 in Camden, the daughter of Frank Rupert and Bessie May (Sharp) Stonner. She married Russell W. Drake of Clinton, on Feb. 23, 1952; he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1991.
Survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara Ann Drake-Chandler of Albuquerque, N.M., Brenda Coons and her husband, William, of Parkville, and Beverly Brown and her husband, William “Bill,” of Lawson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank Rupert Stonner, II and his wife, Jean, of Camden, and Paul Stonner and his wife, Deloris, of Ohio; one sister, Alta Brown of Richmond; four grandchildren, Yvette Cates-Fisher, Will Brown, Marshall Brown and Willow Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Amanda Fisher and Sara Fisher.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
