Charles L. Bowers, 82, of Granbury, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Forth Worth, Texas.
Mr. Bowers was born Feb. 1, 1926 in Richmond, the son of William Lowell and Opal Clapper Bowers. He married Bettie Downs on March 24, 1947. Charles was a 1944 graduate of Richmond High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a lifelong Baptist and worked as a foreman for General Motors for 31 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Bettie of the home; four children, sons Lewis, Maurie and Kenneth Bowers, all of Granbury, Texas and daughter Carolyn Rickmers of Arlington, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Joanne Davis and her husband, Glen, of Bates City; nine grandchildren, Shannon Wong, Rachelle Pritchard, Anna Bowers, Brian Rickmers, Aaron Rickmers, Stephanie Holley, Ryan Bowers, Jason Bowers, Keith Bowers; and nine great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 26 at the Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 27 at the funeral home. Burial was in Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury, Texas.
