Tommy Rush, 57, of Henrietta, died at 7:40 p.m., Monday, June 2, 2008, at Liberty Hospital.
Tommy was born Nov. 13, 1950 in Ray County, the son of Myron Eugene and Ruth (Ishmael) Rush. He married Sandra Sherman of Blackwell, Okla., on Sept. 30, 1989; she survives of the home.
Tommy worked for U.S. Granules for 35 years before retiring in 2005. He had served as the Mayor Pro-Tem and an Alderman for the city of Henrietta. He was a lifelong Ray County resident and of the Christian faith.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy Rush, Jr. and his wife, Christy, of Richmond; three daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie Rush of Clearwater, Fla., Nicolle Hash and her husband, Dusty, of Richmond, and Anna Sherman of Liberty; two sisters, Edna Clancy of Henrietta and Nancy Rush of Richmond; and two grandchildren, T. J. Rush and Kiersten Dowell.
In addition to his parents, one son, Darrell (Bonzy) Rush; two brothers, Johnny Rush and Darrell Rush; and two sisters, Doris Wood and Jane Shipley, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 5, at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, northeast of Richmond.
