Dorothy N. Pike, 92, of Richmond, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Pike was born Feb. 21, 1916, in Orrick, the daughter of Claude and Nell (Slaughter) Scott. She married Teddy D. Pike of Richmond on July 2, 1934; he preceded her in death on April 6, 1986. Mrs. Pike lived in Richmond most of her life and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: one son, Sammy J. Pike of Richmond; one sister-in-law, Martha Ann Scott of Richmond; four grandchildren and their spouses, Nelson Pike and his wife, Tina, Rusty Pike, Jene and Cory Flatley, and Michelle and Robert Preston; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, two brothers, Maurice C. “Scotty” Scott and Ellis Scott, and two sisters, Alice Reid and Pearl Finch, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice.
Memorial graveside services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
