Clara B. Carter, 80, of Richmond, died at 2:05 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2008, at her granddaughter’s home, Danielle Connor.
Ms. Carter was born February 26, 1928 in Houston, Mo., the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Freeland) Carter.
Clara had worked for Mar-Kay Plastics in Kansas City, Mo., where she had lived most of her life until moving to Richmond after she retired. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald Carter, Lee Carter and his wife, Ruth, Jeffrey Carter and his wife, Lori, all of Richmond; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Joyce Decker and her husband, Bill, of Excelsior Springs, Phyllis Moss Hedick and her husband, Jack, of Independence, Robin Cole of Richmond, and Terri Terranova and her husband, Petie, of Richmond; 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Charles and Willard Carter, one sister Edna Phillips, and one granddaughter Casey L. Carter, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clara B. Carter Memorial Fund.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 12, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Houston, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
