John “Pops” Leonard Shockley, 68, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home.
John was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Dover the son of Daniel and Eleanor Franklin Shockley. He married Linda Lewis Feb. 22,1992 in Lexington. John worked at Agco Corporation prior to becoming ill.
Survivors include: his wife, Linda, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Sue Cox and her husband, Bruce, of Lexington, and Mendy L. Patterson and her husband, Carey, of Osage Beach; four step-children; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan Shockley and his wife, Deanna, of Orrick, Charles Shockley and his wife, Adruth, of Orrick and Lloyd Shockley and his wife, Paulette, of Missouri City; and one sister and brother-in-law, Marcile Fisher and her husband, Donald, of Corder.
His parents preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Friends of the Friendless animal rescue in Lexington.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hardin Cemetery.
