Betty Jo Westbrook, 77, of Batesville, Ark., passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, in Arkansas.
Betty Jo was born April 25, 1930, in Cord, Ark., the daughter of Bernice Thompson and Lorena Best Thompson. She was an avid basketball player in high school and college, an Avon representative and a member of the Quail Valley Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her husband, Leonard Ray Westbrook, Sr., of Batesville, Ark.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lenny Westbrook and his wife, Carmen, of Athens, Ala., Dennis Westbrook and his wife, Vickie, of Clearwater, Kan., and Rick Westbrook and his wife, Barb, of Richmond; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen Baker and her husband, Nelson, and Nell Osborne and her husband, Charles, all of Cord, Ark.; 11 grandchildren, Chris, Heather, Brett, Matthew, Mark, John, Luke, James, Caleb, Britni and Becca; four great-grandchildren, Chase, Gage, Cheney and Chloe; one daughter and son-in-law in Christ, Mary Steinkirchner and her husband, Tom, and their children, Angela, T.J. and Darrick; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her parents, an infant sister, Nora Katherine, her mother-in-law, Velna May Westbrook, and her father-in-law, George Columbus Westbrook, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, May 4, at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville, Ark. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 5, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Cord, Ark.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Matthew Westbrook, Caleb Westbrook, Mark Westbrook, John Westbrook, Luke Westbrook, Brett Westbrook and James Westbrook.
Honorary pallbearers are Tom Steinkirchner, T.J. Steinkirchner and Darrick Steinkirchner.
Arrangements are under the direction of Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville, Ark.
