Earnestine Eleanor Bertoldie, 89, of Liberty, died at 3:20 a.m., Sunday, April 27, 2008, at North Kansas City Hospital, in North Kansas City, Mo.
Earnestine was born April 16, 1919, in Springfield, the daughter of Abram and Maude (Derry) Buttram. She married Lowell E. Bertoldie of Knoxville, on Nov. 7, 1937; he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 1997.
Earnestine was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the Kansas City area. After her marriage, she and her husband lived for a while in California. Mrs. Bertoldie was a member of the Knoxville Community Church and participated in the ladies groups of the church.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Forrest and Ann Bertoldie of Liberty; seven grandchildren, Amy Katherine Ferry, Allison Elizabeth Bertoldie, Keith Scott Bertoldie, Michael Dale Bertoldie, Jeanie McCoy, Robert R. Stough and Kathleen E. Stough; two great-grandchildren, Katherine Jane Ferry and Koda Bertoldie; and one great-great grandchild, Jessie Bertoldie.
In addition to her parents and her husband, one son, Gary Keith Bertoldie, one great-grandson, Joel Bertoldie, and three brothers, Virgil, Lester and Leonard Buttram, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Knoxville Community Church.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 1, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery.
