Robert E. “Bob” Bunn, 64, of Richmond, died at 12:35 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Mo.
Bob was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Panama City, Fla., the son of Earl James and Nell Mae (Roe) Bunn. He married Rita Kaye (Proffitt) Long of Richmond, on Feb. 14, 1980; she survives of the home.
Bob had worked for the Fairfax General Motors Plant for 30 years, before retiring in 1992. He was of the Baptist faith. He had lived most of his adult life in the Richmond area except for the five years he lived in Sulphur, La. He was a member of U.A.W. Union Local # 31 of Kansas City, Kan.
In addition to his wife, Rita, survivors include: two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Alan Bunn and his wife, Debbie, of Kansas City, Mo., and Jimmy Dwain Bunn and Ana Sanz, of St. Joseph; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debra Lynn Cadwalader and her husband, John, of Independence, and Laura Nicole Long of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Howard Glenn Bunn and his wife, Maylene, of Verbena, Ala.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sherry Howlett and her husband, Jim, of Sulphur, La., and Sandra Suire of Sulphur, La.; five grandchildren, Amber Dawn Zimmerle, Christopher Alan Bunn, Holly Nicole Bunn, Madison Sanz and Jeremy Bunn; and one great-grandchild, Aaron Patrick Alan Bettis.
In addition to his parents, one brother, Richard Brian Bunn, preceded him in death.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Todd’s Chapel Church or Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 11, at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Todd’s Chapel Cemetery west of Richmond.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
