Helen Valentine Rimmer, 96 of Gladstone, formerly of Excelsior Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the Riverside Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Riverside.
Helen was born Feb. 14, 1912, on a farm near Elkhorn, the daughter of Frank F. and Lorraine G. (Craven) Bollinger. On April 17, 1944 in Phoenix, Ariz., she married Melvin Eugene Rimmer, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1976.
Survivors include: one son, Howard Rimmer and one daughter, Sheryl Davis, both of Gladstone; two brothers, Floyd Bollinger of Phoenix, Ariz. and Franklin Bollinger, Jr. of Gladstone; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; four nieces and two nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, one son, Norman David Rimmer and one brother, Arthur Bollinger, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Luke’s Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 27, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday March 28, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Excelsior Springs. The Rev. Randy Mitchell will officiate.
