Vera E. Stein, 92, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center.
Vera was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Ray County, the daughter of Roscoe and Edith (Teegarden) Harris. She married Ernest “Frank” Stein on June 27, 1941 in Kansas City, Mo. She taught school at the Scott School in Ray County during WWII. She had also worked for Montgomery Ward, and was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.
Vera was a faithful member of the Vibbard Christian Union Church.
Survivors include: her husband Ernest “Frank” Stein, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Stein and his wife, Melody, of Rayville; one granddaughter, Misty Stein of St. Joseph; and one grandson, Benjamin Stein, of Rayville.
In addition to her parents, an infant brother, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Vibbard Christian Union Church in her memory.
The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 27, at the Vibbard Christian Union Church in Vibbard. Burial will be in the Old Union Cemetery in Lawson.
