Margaret E. Kastner, 96, of Bloomingdale, Mich., formerly of Hardin, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at her home.
Mrs. Kastner was born Dec. 22, 1911, in Hardin, the daughter of George Robert and Maude S. (McCoun) Foster. She married John C. “Jack” Kastner of Galena, Ill., in 1930; he preceded her in death in 1992.
After graduating from Hardin High School, Mrs. Kastner attended business college and was an office manager at the Midwest Industrial Complex in St. Louis for many years. She resided in St. Louis for over 50 years. She and her husband had many good friends in the area, were active in various square dance groups and were avid bridge players. In 2002, she moved to Bloomingdale to live with her niece, Ruth Ellen (Paul) Kellogg.
Survivors include: 19 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
In addition to her husband, five brothers, Robert, Rollie, Herbert, T. J. and George Foster, and two sisters, Anna May Duffett and Bertha A. Norton, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond Memory Gardens c/o Thurman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, March 21, at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m., Friday, March 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
