Martha J. Baker, 70, of Lexington, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.
Martha Jane Howell was born Feb. 20, 1938, the daughter of Ernest and Elaine Clouse Howell in Albany. She married Virgil Dean Baker on Dec. 4, 1956, in Farragut, Iowa.
Survivors include: her husband, Virgil Baker of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Goucher and her husband, Jerry, of Lexington; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jay Baker and his wife, Susan, of Memphis, Tenn., Randy Baker of North Kansas City and Ryan Baker and his wife, Jennifer, of Norborne; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Howell of Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, two daughters, Marcie Baker and Cory Elaine Richardson, one brother Jim, and three sisters, Ernestine, Evelyn, and Donna, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to the Asthma Foundation or the American Lung Association.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Baker were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 17, at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial will be at a later date in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
