Frances L. Mitchell, 88, of Richmond, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Nov. 30, 1919 in Richmond, the daughter of James W. and Nancy L. (Bryan) Hardison. She married Earl W. Mitchell of Henrietta, on Nov. 14, 1937; he preceded her in death on March 22, 1977. Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and lived in Hardin before moving to Richmond in 1993. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henrietta.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sherry Farabee of Henrietta; two grandchildren, Paul Farabee and his wife, Felicia, of Henrietta, and Kirsti Acree of Richmond; four great-grandchildren, Erin and Lucas Farabee, and Matthew and Laura Acree; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, one brother, Clyde Hardison, and three sisters, Lottie O’Dell, Hazel Blair, and Sarah Hoeflicker, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ray County Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 15, at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Richmond.
