Henrietta Bessie Newton, 82, of Rayville, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at the Lawson Manor in Lawson.
Henrietta was born Aug. 6, 1925 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of George and Bessie Brown Norris. She married Harold Leslie Newton, who preceded her in death Jan. 4, 2000.
Mrs. Newton worked for Whitaker Cable for several years as an assembler. She enjoyed embroidery, was the best cook ever and especially enjoyed planting flowers and yardwork.
Survivors include: four daughters, Darlene Carver of Fremont, Ohio, Sharon King of Rayville, Bonita McCauley of Polo and Barbara Newsome of Cole Camp; two sons, Charles Robinson of Okla. and Danny Robinson of Cole Camp; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Harold, her parents, one son, Benjamin Arthur Robinson, one granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Robinson; one sister, Betty Bennett and two brothers, Alvin Norris and Junior Norris, preceded her in death.
There will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 14, at the Crowley Cemetery at Rayville.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
