Allen Dale Ritchie, 51, of Henrietta, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
Allen was born Feb. 27, 1957 in Dexter, the son of Elbert Junior and Catherine Blanche (Hamby) Ritchie. On Sept. 16, 1991, he married Josephine Stevens of Richmond; who survives of the home.
Allen Dale worked as a farm hand for many farmers in the Ray County area. He lived most of his life in Richmond, prior to moving to Henrietta. He was of the Christian faith.
Additional survivors include: his mother, Catherine, of Henrietta; one son, Kevin W. Ritchie, of Richmond; four stepsons, Billy Covey, of Mountain Home, Ark., Randy Covey, of Kansas City, Mo., Rickey Covey, of Bosworth, and Eddie Covey, of Lexington; two stepdaughters, JoAnne Judd, of Richmond, and Elsie O’Donnel, of Richmond; one brother, Michael E. Ritchie, of Sikeston; 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his father, one step-grandson, Billy James Covey, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Allen Dale Ritchie memorial fund.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8 at South Point Cemetery in Orrick.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
