Dortha I. Howard, 72, of Lexington, passed away at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington on Saturday, March 1, 2008.
Dortha Irine Payne was born June 18, 1935 in Henrietta, the daughter of William and Wilma Conklin Payne. She married Peter Howard III on June 18, 1953 in Lexington.
Survivors include: D. Maxine Hurshman, of Richmond; three sons, William Howard, Kirt Howard and Peter Howard IV, all of Lexington; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; seven brothers, Harold Payne, of Sibley, Kenneth Payne, of Lexington, Donald Payne, of Richmond, Tessie Payne, of Stet, and James Payne, of Lincoln, Clarence Payne, of Wellington, and Richard Payne, of Odessa; four sisters, Barbara Flanigan, of Blue Springs, Elizabeth Heyer, of Columbia, Mary Rippy, of Richmond, Judy Cobb, of Odessa.
Her parents, husband, Peter Howard III, two brothers, Bill and Alvin Payne and two sisters, Julia May and Linda Sue Payne, preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to Lafayette Regional Health Center or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 5 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 6. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
