Larry Wayne St. John, 51 of Excelsior Springs, passed away Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Liberty Hospital.
Larry was born Sept. 26, 1956, in Excelsior Springs, the son of Donald Andrew and Joan Marie Ballinger St. John. On Dec. 1, 1979 in Excelsior Springs, he married Denice Carolyn Bishop, who preceded him in death Sept. 9, 2007.
Larry was a 1975 graduate of Excelsior High School. Following graduation, he worked for Whitaker Cable before going to work for Clay County as an irrigation specialist for 28 years. Larry was the Assistant Superintendent for Clay County Parks. He was a member of the Christian Science Church.
Survivors include: one son, Eric St. John, of Excelsior Springs; his mother, Joan St. John, of Excelsior Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Pamela Jones and her husband, Craig, of Excelsior Springs; three brothers, Donnie St. John of Wood Heights, Mark St. John and Tommy St. John, both of Excelsior Springs; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews .
In addition to his wife, his parents preceded him in death.
No visitation is scheduled. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 7, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Burial will be at a later date in the Polley Cemetery.
