Smith Goetting, 90, of Norborne, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Goetting was born April 18, 1917 in Norborne, the son of Walter William and Rosa Mary (Smith) Goetting. He married Judith Ann Wegeng on April 14, 1956; she survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Anthony Thomas Goetting and his wife, Judy, of Lawrence, Kan., and Steven Dennis Goetting and his wife, Kristin, of Shawnee, Kan.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Paula Minesky and her husband, James, of Bellefonte, Penn., and Anne Cecile Moberg and her husband, Kenneth; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marie Goetting, Cameron Moberg, Samantha Goetting, Phoebe Moberg and Tatum Goetting; and one step-grandson, Brandon Elliott.
In addition to his parents, two sisters, Charlotte, who died in infancy, and Mary Evelyn Goetting, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Norborne or the Ray County Home Health.
Rosary will be recited prior to the funeral service at 10:15 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. Funeral services will follow the rosary at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial with military graveside services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Norborne.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne.
