Dorothy Bowman Clark, 84, of Higginsville, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Dorothy was born July 9, 1923 in Hardin, the daughter of Will Bowman and Velvie (Still) Bowman.
Dorothy worked as an inspector at Remington Arms, retiring in Oct. 1975. She lived most of her life in Higginsville. Dorothy married Marvin H. Clark on April 17, 1943; he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1996. Dorothy belonged to the First Baptist Church in Higginsville and to the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one sister, Jody (Judy) Bowman, of Henrietta, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary, the First Baptist Church of Higginsville Building Fund or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the First Baptist Church in Higginsville. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the church, officiated by Dr. Greg Fine. Music will be provided by Sandra DeHaven, organist and Jennifer Alexander, vocalist. Burial is in City Cemetery, Higginsville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hoefer Funeral Home in Higginsville.
In addition to her husband and her parents, one brother, Ray S. Bowman and one sister, Wilma Wilson, preceded her in death.
