L. Frances Summers, 88, of Lawson, formerly of Excelsior Springs, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, at her home.
Frances was born on Dec. 12, 1919 in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Joseph M. & Cloey M. (Clevenger) Schmitz. She married Harold Summers on October 25, 1937 in Excelsior Springs. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1980.
Frances had worked as a photo developer for Straffman Studios in Excelsior Springs. She was later a school bus driver for the Excelsior Springs District before retiring after 20 years. She was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-laws, Linda Evans and her husband, Fred, of Lawson and Laytena Nickols and her husband, David, of Excelsior Springs; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, one son, James Harold Summers, and one brother, James C. Schmitz, preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Polley Funeral Home in Lawson. Funeral Services will immediately follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
