Lula M. McCumber, 86, of Carrollton, died at 2:10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the Life Care Center in Carrollton.
Mrs. McCumber was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Wakenda, the daughter of James Larkin and Lela Bell (Adkins) Womack. She married Harold Ervin “Pickle” McCumber of Carroll County on May 12, 1938; he preceded her in death on March 8, 2002.
Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, William Oscar McCumber and his wife, Violet, of Bogard, and Terry Wayne McCumber and his wife, Paula Sue, of Carrollton; one daughter, Anabelle Stroud of Malden, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, one son, Harold Ervin McCumber, Jr., one daughter, Carol Edith Ritzinger; three grandchildren; six brothers, John, Sam, Charles, Dake, Bill and Bart Womack; three sisters Nancy Merritt, Minnie Folks and Pearl Tate; and one son-in-law preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The visitation was held Monday, Feb. 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. Funeral services immediately followed at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton.
Arrangements were under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne.
