Daisy Davis, 101, of Richmond, died at 7:21 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Davis was born Feb. 1, 1906 in Ray County, the daughter of Adam and Nancy Belle (Hunt) Starcher. She married Houston R. Davis of the Tinney Grove community in Ray County on Dec. 21, 1930; he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1973.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker. She lived in Polo before moving to Richmond in 1997. She was a 50-year member of the Acicia Chapter #42 O.E.S. in Polo. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Harold R. Davis and his wife, Joyce, of Excelsior Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Lois Ann Alspaugh and her husband, Paul, of Polo; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Larry Davis, Kevin Davis and his wife, Lynda, Mark A. Davis and his wife, J.J., Angela Frazier, Michael Davis, Wally D. Alspaugh and his wife, Tammy, and Ron C. Alspaugh and his wife, Denise; nine great-grandchildren, Keri Morris, Phillip Alspaugh, Erica Alspaugh, Jason Davis, Justin Davis, Tony Davis, Sara Davis, Kevin Davis and Tommy Davis; and one great-great-grandson, Gage Alspaugh.
Her parents, her husband, Houston, three brothers, Elza Starcher, Della Starcher and Leonard Starcher; two sisters, Oma Keen and Ida Mae Barbie; and great-granddaughter, Jennifer Alspaugh, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Acicia Chapter #42 O.E.S. in Polo.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cowgill Cemetery in Cowgill.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
