Marta Love, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at the Lawson Manor and Rehabilitation Center in Lawson.
Marta was born in El Salvador, the daughter of Carmen and Juan Ruiz-Torres. She immigrated to this country at the age of 18, where she attended business college and found employment as an international translator for the bank of America in San Fransisco. She met and married Kenenth Love and relocated to the Midwest in 1955.
She had lived and worked in Excelsior Springs for many years, employed by the Job Service Center and the Local Library.
Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Frances Powers and her husband, Wayne, of Excelsior Springs, Karen Epp and her husband, Jerry, of Raytown, and Marta Love and Bill Allen of Suffolk, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m., with Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
