Harold W. Calvert, 86, of Richmond, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at the North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Calvert was born Dec. 28, 1921 in Avalon, the son of Calvin and Mildred (Hendrix) Calvert. He married Marjorie L. Clark of Richmond on June 11, 1942; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Kennel Calvert and his wife, Beverly, of Lawson, and Kevin Calvert and his wife, Pamela, of Zimmerman, Minn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen J. Epps and her husband, Stephen, of Arvada, Colo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard Calvert and his wife, Marian, of Richmond, and Harlan Calvert and his wife, Dorothy, of Henrietta; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris Claypole and her husband, Robert, of Richmond; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
His parents, and one granddaughter, who died in infancy, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Canaan Hill Nazarene Church in Lawson.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond, where Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #237 and Richmond VFW Post #4398.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
