Glenn Booker Atkins, 56, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008.
Glenn was born Oct. 27, 1951 in Lexington. He married Cynthia Livingston on Jan. 21, 1997 in Lexington. After high school graduation, Glenn enlisted in the Navy and served one tour of duty in Vietnam. Prior to his illness, he had worked at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.
Survivors include: his wife, Cynthia Atkins, of the home; his mother and father, Marcia and George Pollard, of Liberty; three stepsons, Durayn Livingston and Quincy Livingston, both of Lexington, and Dustin Elmore, of Independence; five grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Lee and his wife, Lucille, of Richmond, Va., and Allan Lee and his wife, Georgia, of Liberty; one sister, Tamara Lee, of Liberty; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
His brother, James Byron Lee, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Lexington. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Nadler- Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
