Marvin Thompson, 77, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at his home.
Marvin was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Belle, Missouri, the son of William H. and Sarah E. Francis Thompson. He married Norma Jean Fairchild on June 3, 1955 in Lexington. Marvin was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Marvin was a member of the Lexington V.F.W. Post 4052.
Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie Middleton and her husband, James, of Independence, Brenda Todd, of Lexington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce Thompson and his wife, Jennifer, of Independence, and Brent Thompson and his wife, Kimberly, of Dover, one sister, Lorean Stienbeck, of Owensville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His wife, Norma Jean, his parents, three brothers, Ranie, Curtis, and Norman, and one sister, Zelma Lange, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
