Douglas J. Bushnell, 65, of Richmond, died at 4:53 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008 at the Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.
Douglas was born March 23, 1942 in La Porte City, Iowa the son of Wesley James and Gwendola Heloise (Spicher) Bushnell.
Douglas was a self-employed horticulturist for several years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the La Porte City, Iowa American Legion Post. He was of the Christian faith. He had lived in Rogers, Ark. and La Porte City, Iowa before moving to Richmond in April of 2007.
Survivors include: one sister, Ardis Fenimore of Richmond; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don Collins and his wife, Marian, of Excelsior Springs, and Tim Collins and his wife, Rosemary, of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Northland Hospice.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers, Ark. with military services provided by the Rogers, AR VFW Post #3031.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
