John A. Bowman, 89, of Richmond, and formerly of Millville, died at 3:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
John was born May 13, 1918 in Millville, the son of Dan and Mary (Mathney) Bowman.
Survivors include; special friend, Sybil Walter of Excelsior Springs; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter, and two nephews.
John was a self employed painter and was a farmer. He lived in Millville most of his life and was a member of the Millville Methodist Church.
His parents, and his brother, Jewell L. Fields, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, north of Hardin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
