Gerald Robert Elliott, 49, of Missouri City, Texas, much beloved, left this life on Dec. 25, 2007.
Mr. Elliott was born Aug. 1958 in Spokane, Wash. the son of Henry and Geraldine Elliott. His siblings include Henry Marvin Elliott, III, Deborah Ann Stickleman, and Claudia K. Barber. He is a 1976 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1980, after a tour of duty as a medical specialist in Germany and Western Europe. He was a member of the Worldwide Church of God in the Kansas City area, and continued to follow their beliefs and teachings for the rest of his life. He married Bonnie Marriott in Ray County in 1994. They have enjoyed 13 years of a blessed and happy marriage including step-children, Derek S. Marriott, Micah B. Marriott and Christopher B. Marriott. Gerald was employed at Solar Tool & Die as a machinist and toolmaker until his retirement; at the time he fell ill. He was a member of numerous Masonic organizations in Texas and Louisiana including Queensborough Lodge, Shreveport, La. and Canyon Lake Lodge, Canyon Lake, Texas.
Survivors include: his father and mother, Henry and Geraldine Elliott, of Excelsior Springs; two sisters, Claudia Barber, of Excelsior Springs, and Deborah Stickleman, of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother Henry Elliott, of Kansas City, Mo., three stepsons, Derek Marriott, of Kansas City, Mo., Christopher Marriott, of Bremerton, Wash., Micah Marriott, of Bremerton, Wash.; and Gerald’s wife, Bonnie Elliott, of Missouri City, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2270 River Road, Des Plaines, Ill. 60018 or the Scottish Rite Learning Center, 12871 Research Blvd – Austin, Texas 78750.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, with Masonic Rites accorded. Funeral services will be held immediately after the visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Polley Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
