Clyde Page Conner, 90, of Excelsior Springs, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 at the Excelsior Springs Medical Center.
Mr. Connor was born Sept. 17, 1917, in Ray County, the son of George Lilburn and Bessie Dean (Page) Conner. On April 6, 1940, in Richmond, he was united in marriage to Daisy Marie Clevenger.
Mr. Conner was the owner and operator of Conner Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the I.O.O.F, had been involved with the Boy Scouts and was a member of Flack Memorial church where he had served on the board of trustees. He enjoyed living in the country and tending to his garden.
Survivors include: his wife of 67 years, Daisy Marie, of the home; two sons, Kenneth E. Conner of Lee’s Summit, and Leonard W. Conner of Washington, D.C.; two grandsons, Brett Page Conner and Robert J. Conner; two great-grandchildren, Scott Conner and Lydia Conner; one brother, Henry “Hank” Conner of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Ethel Ashton of Coos Bay, Ore., and Patsy Bryan of Rolling Mountain Park, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, two brothers and one sister, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Old New Garden Cemetery in Excelsior Springs with military rites.
