Robert J. Leiter, 82, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center.
Mr. Leiter was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Sedalia, the son of Alonzo J. and Elsie Ruth (Lamar) Leiter. He married Ursal Marie Currier on May 14, 1948 in Richmond, who survives him. Mr. Leiter was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert J. Leiter and his wife, Theresa, of Wichita, Kan., and Kenneth Lee Leiter, of Sedalia; one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia M. Hecker and her husband, John, of Lenexa, Kan.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center or Excelsior Springs Hospice.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 at Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.
