Frieda Elizabeth Howerton, 87, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Howerton was born May 4, 1920 in Richmond the daughter of Arthur Oren and Goldie B. (Phillips) Richardson. She married Curtis Kincheloe of Lexington, in 1940; he preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1955. She later married Claudie Webster Howerton of Noel, on Sept. 6, 1962; he preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2006.
Mrs. Howerton was a homemaker. She was a member of the Knoxville Community Church. She lived in the Richmond area all of her life. She was a cook at the Richmond High School for several years. She was the manager of Mode-O-Day in Richmond for twelve years before retiring in 1973.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Curtis A. and Jenna Jo Kincheloe of Maui, Hawaii; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Kay and Jon Dana of Richmond; four grandchildren, Jeanine Swope, Tara Corwin, Jon W. Dana and Erin Moyer; ten great- grandchildren, Tarin Corwin, Jacob Swope, Jay C. Corwin, C.J. Dana, Ben Dana, Carson R. Corwin, Laney Moyer, Ragin Corwin, Drew Dana, and Logan Moyer.
In addition to her husbands and parents, one brother, Allen Richardson, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Knoxville Community Church in Knoxville, Mo.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in Richmond.
