James Jiovenale, 89, of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007.
Mr. Jiovenale was born March 7, 1918 in Lexington, the son of Joseph James and Maria Vittoria Ferro Jiovenale. He married Dorothy H. Atwood Nov. 19, 1938 in Lexington.
He was a member of the Lexington United Methodist Church. Jimmie Jo retired in 1975, after 36 years, from Ford Motor Company. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Tubiolo and her husband, Paul, of Lakeside, Calif., and Shirley Link and her husband, Bob, of Lexington; one daughter-in-law, Viki Jiovenale, of Liberty; one sister, Marguerite Cornish, of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Geneva Hamilton, of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
His parents, his wife, Dorothy, his son, James “Tony” Jiovenale, a grandson, Christopher Tubiolo, his stepfather, Enrico Giorza, two sisters, Elizabeth Chance and Josephine McKean, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Lexington United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007 at the Lexington United Methodist Church with a time of fellowship immediately following the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington.
