Nadine Middleton, 101, of Liberty, died at 5:15 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.
Mrs. Middleton was born Dec. 10, 1905 in Camden, the daughter of William and Tabitha (Brown) McCoy. She married John M. Middleton of Camden, on May 26, 1923. He preceded her in death in Sept. of 1974.
Mrs. Middleton was a homemaker. She attended the Orrick First Christian Church. She had lived in the Camden and Orrick areas before moving to Liberty in 1993.
Survivors include: one son, John D. Middleton of Independence; one daughter, Dorothy L. Vandiver of Liberty; six grandchildren and their spouses, Vicki McComas, Mike Vandiver and his wife, Karen, Jackie Vandiver, Debbie Gordan and her husband, Drew, Pam Gross and her husband, Kevin, Brian Thomas and his wife, Lisa, nine great-grandchildren, Shaun Gordon, Tiffany Nyberg and her husband, Dan, Matthew Gross, Katie Gross, Dana Vandiver, Andrea Weems, Jesse McComas, Blake Thomas, Austin Thomas; six great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Handley, Ryan Bishop, Kylie Weems, Tyler Weems, Haylie Dawn Gordon, and Allison Nicole Nyberg.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Middleton was preceded in death by one brother, Perean McCoy, one sister, Helen Duncan, one daughter and son-in-law, Olene R. Henderson and her husband, James, one daughter-in-law, Loretta “Tootie” Middleton and two grandchildren, Kerri Vandiver and Robin Middleton.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Orrick Fire Department.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
