Norma K. Smith, 84, of Richmond, died at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Norma was born on Feb. 8, 1923 in Richmond, the daughter of Harold and Clara (Griffin) Cox. She married Paris Wayne “Wimpy” Smith of Richmond, on Aug. 16, 1940. He survives of the home. Norma was a member of the Richmond First Baptist Church and a lifelong Richmond resident.
Additional survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Steve Smith and his wife, Lori, of Richmond; three daughters and one son-in-law, Sheri K. Palmerin of Lexington, Barbara Jordan and her husband, Kenneth, of Lathrop, and Nancy Durr of Richmond; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her parents, and one sister, Mildred A. Miller, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery with burial to follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
