Elaine A. “Toni” Franklin, 77, of Richmond, died at 6:46 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
“Toni” was born May 10, 1930 in Rutland, Vt. the daughter of Euclid and Bernadette (DuBois) Hamel. She married William P. Franklin of Sedalia, on April 9, 1954; he survives, of the home.
Toni had served on the Salvation Board in Richmond. She was a member of the Richmond Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Other survivors include: two sons and two daughters-in-law, Bill Franklin and his wife, Susan, of Scott Air Force Base, Ill., and Colin Franklin and his wife, Kim, of Blue Springs; three daughters and one son-in-law, Anita Hodson and her husband, Bill, of Richmond, Elisa Shuck of Columbia, and Felicia Isaacs of Fairway, Kan.; one sister, Terri Ramsey of Tampa, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Her parents and three brothers, Francis, Steve, and Euclid Hamel, preceded her in death.
Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. prior to the visitation. Funeral Mass Services were held Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond. Burial was in Swan Lake Memorial Garden Cemetery in Grain Valley.
Arrangements were under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
