Louis “L.J.” Sanders, 60, of Richmond, died at 6:45 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
“L.J.” was born May 18, 1947 in Independence, the son of Louis Sanders, Jr. and Joan Jean (Ottman) Sanders. He married Sandra Kay Gaulden, of Richmond, on Aug. 24, 1968.
“L.J.” had worked at various jobs in the Richmond area over the years and for the past 17 years had been employed at Rapid Ways/Westfall G.M.C. He was a member of the Fleming Baptist Church. He was a lifetime Richmond resident.
Survivors include: his wife, Sandra, of the home; his father, Louis Sanders, Jr. of Richmond; one son and daughter-in-law, John Sanders and his wife, Kristy, of Richmond; and one grandson, Jasyn Sanders.
His mother and one grandson, Justyn Sanders, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the L.J. Sanders Memorial Fund or the Fleming Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond.
