Paula F. (Gorham) Simmons, 48, of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Richmond, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kan.
Paula was born April 23, 1959 in Richmond, the daughter of Kenneth Eldrid and Thelma Mae (Armstrong) Gorham. She married Larry D. Simmons of Richmond on June 10, 1988.
Paula was a supervisor at Honeywell in Olathe, Kan. for 18 years. She was a 1977 graduate of Hardin High School. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications Management from DeVry University in Kansas City, Mo. on June 22, 2003. She received her Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix on Aug. 31, 2005. She lived in the Richmond area most of her life before moving to Olathe in 1991. She was a Pink Lady of the Redhatters. She had played on numerous bowling leagues. She was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include: her husband, Larry Simmons, of the home; one son, Michael Foley of the home; three daughters and one son-in-law, Kendearly Tanner and her husband, Kyle, of Hardin, Marketta Foley of Gardner, Kan., and Katrina Simmons of the home; one brother, David Gorham of N.C.; four grandchildren, Christopher Foley, D.J. Fischer, Roger Tanner and Mikey Tanner; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Katrina Anne Simmons Educational Fund.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home in Richmond. Burial will be at Belt Cemetery in Millville.
