John Ferguson Dungan, 71, of Lawson, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, at North Kansas City Hospital.
John was born July 25, 1936 in Kerr, the son of George Ferguson and Katherine Anna (Weber) Dungan. John served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Connie Porter on Feb. 9, 1996. John was a member of the Excelsior Springs VFW # 741, 101 Operating Engineers and the Grace Family Worship Center.
Survivors include: his wife, Connie, of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott Dungan and his wife, Loretta, of Lawson, Joe Dungan and his wife, Sandy, of North Kansas City, Mo. and Richard Porter of Gladstone; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Buchanan and her husband, Tim, of Atlanta, Ga., Jana Vermillion and her husband, Paul, of Crystal Lakes, Mo. and Kimberly Kromeich and her husband, Chris, of Liberty; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Doris Mann of Kearney, Ruby Hafner of Grain Valley, and Georgia Stout and her husband, Ronnie, of Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His first wife, Joyce; his parents; one brother, Marvin Dungan; six sisters, Leona Barnes, Opal Wilson, Pauline Shaney, Mary Decot, Dorothy O’Brian and infant Evelyn, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at the Polley Funeral Home in Lawson. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at the Old Union Christian Union Church in Lawson. Burial will be in the Lawson Cemetery.
